RE:Afterlife
Here's my review of Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D -
It's the first 3D movie i've watched and it really hurt my eyes and head. Most of the time i tried not to focus to prevent my eyes from crossing. Don't think it was just me because my friend was complaining too.
Anyway the movie began with Alice(s) conquering the Umbrella Corp. Tokyo branch. As you all know Alice(s) have super agility and style for killing. I found the moves really exaggerating and unnecessary. Blah blah blah and then the antagonist escapes on a chopper/plane. True-Alice is on board with the bad guy who then jabs her with a Anti-T-Virus virus, stating that she will lose all her superpowers and become normal. Alice thanks him for turning her into a human and then the plane crashes into the mountains, becoming a ball of flame. Alice survives and walks away from the crash. (normal human...?)
From then on the plot was just horrible. There was a scene whereby Claire Alice and Chris were standing infront of a vault door with an Umbrella Corp. logo. Claire exclaims that behind those doors is a trap as it opened up. However they walk in knowing it's a trap. Hello?
I shall just summarize up. RE: Afterlife is a mixture of The Matrix(dodging bullets motion), Left 4 Dead(infinite angst zombies gushing in from side doors) and Prison Break(only Wentworth Miller knows the way out of the prison.. hmmm.) The movie doesn't really have a plot. New characters die too fast. It's obvious that they wanna showcase the 3D effects but really, the effects don't help in contributing plus points to the movie.
Cast: 7/10 (Milla's still hot)
Plot: 3/10 (Wouldn't make any sense if you didn't watch part 1,2,3)
3D effects: 6/10
Lines: 4/10 (i assure you, they don't talk much. Could have had better lines.)
OVERALL: 2/5
I still vote Inception as mind-blowing film of the year!
